Late Evening Fiery Crash on 110 Freeway in South LA Kills Four People

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (June 16, 2023) – Four people died in a fiery accident on 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles late Thursday evening on June 15.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:40 p.m. near the Slauson Avenue off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a four-door Infiniti sedan was traveling southbound on the freeway when it lost control and missed the Slauson exit. It then struck a sound wall and burst into flames.
 
Firefighters extinguished the flames and discovered four people inside the vehicle.
 
All four were pronounced dead at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
Officers believe the driver was between 20 and 30 years of age.
 
Witnesses said the Infiniti may have been involved in street racing but the information has not yet been confirmed by the CHP.
 
Speed appeared to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
