Five Dead in Fiery Accident on Pacific Coast Highway

 
MALIBU, CA (November 7, 2022) — Five people died after a head-on fiery crash on Pacific Coast Highway on Sunday, November 6.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near Mugu Rock. Reports said a blue Subaru WRX driven by a man in his 30s crashed head-on an SUV with four occupants. CHP said that one of the vehicles reportedly veered into oncoming traffic. However, they have not confirmed which one.
 
Ventura County Fire Department Capt. Brian McGrath said both vehicles caught fire after the collision.
 
According to Sgt. John Larson of CHP Ventura, officers responded and extinguished the fires. Then they found five fatal victims in the two vehicles. Four people died in the small SUV, which is the main vehicle that caught on fire. Additionally, there’s one fatality in the Subaru. Their identities were not immediately released.
 
Authorities closed both directions of the PCH as of 8 a.m. Sunday during the on-scene investigation.
