Felix Varrasso Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Accident on O’Byrnes Ferry Road [Jamestown, CA]

Motorcyclist Suffers Major Injuries after Crash with Pickup Truck in Jamestown

 
Jamestown, CA (November 7, 2023) – Felix Varrasso was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Jamestown Saturday on November 4.
 
The accident happened on O’Byrnes Ferry Road at Peoria Flat Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, 65-year-old Jeffrey Fiscalini of Jamestown was stopped in a 2011 Chevy Silverado on Peoria Flat Road, waiting for traffic to clear to make a left onto that roadway.
 
At the same time, 18-year-old Felix Varrasso of Copperopolis was riding his 2015 KTM motorcycle northbound on O’Byrnes Ferry Road at approximately 55 mph.
 
Fiscalini looked to his left and observed the motorcycle approaching, but felt he had time to merge into traffic and started to make his left turn. However, he pulled directly into the path of Varrasso, who tried to steer to the left around the pickup.

Unfortunately, Varrasso was unable to miss the right front of the truck. The motorcycle crashed into it and was thrown to the right shoulder of O’Byrnes Ferry Road.

As a result, Varrasso suffered major injuries to his entire body. He was flown to Memorial Hospital in Modesto.

Meanwhile, Fiscalini exited his vehicle to check on the rider. He was unharmed.

An investigation into this crash is ongoing.

As drivers, be careful if you see a motorcycle with a signal on. Be sure the rider is turning before moving ahead. Manage your speed and practice defensive driving.
