1 Hospitalized after Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 41 near Elkhorn Avenue

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (December 20, 2021) – A DUI driver sustained injuries in a semi-truck accident on Highway 41, Friday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on December 17 at about 5:30 p.m. As per reports, a Hyundai ran a red light. Then, it crashed into a semi-truck that was making a turn near Highway 41 and Elkhorn Avenue.
 
The impact of the collision pinned the Hyundai under the semi-truck.
 
Emergency crews later transported the Hyundai driver to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. As per reports, the driver will be booked into jail for DUI after recovery.
 
Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver remained at the scene and did not need hospitalization.
 
CHP continues to investigate the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
