NIPOMO, CA (September 2, 2021) — One driver dies after heavy machinery lands on a car on Highway 101 near Willow Road Wednesday.
 
According to reports, the fatal incident happened around 4:21 p.m. For unknown reasons, a semi-truck hit a guardrail. Subsequently, construction equipment slipped off the trailer and stumbled about 30 feet from the highway onto a white Cadillac Escalade on Willow Road.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, the Cadillac driver died at the scene.
 
At this time, authorities have no information as to what drove the initial crash. However, if anyone has more information on this accident, please contact the California Highway Patrol.
