Motorcyclist, Officer Hurt in San Diego Accident on 5 Freeway
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 2, 2021) — A motorcyclist and an officer were injured in a crash on the 5 freeway near Via De La Valle.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 61-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his 2000 Harley Davidson. Subsequently, the motorcycle struck the concrete center divider and a CHP officer.
As a result, the motorcyclist suffered major injuries. Meanwhile, the officer sustained minor to moderate injuries in the collision.
At this time, authorities have determined that the officer tried to remove a ladder from the freeway at the time. However, an investigation into this crash requires further attention.
