Early Morning Crash on Highway 108 in Riverbank Leaves Driver Dead

 
RIVERBANK, CA (March 30, 2021) – A driver died in a car accident on Highway 108 in the Riverbank area.
 
The accident happened around 2:13 a.m. Monday, March 29 just west of Adams Gravel Plant Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2006 Lexus sedan was traveling eastbound on the highway when it veered off the south edge for unknown reasons. It then struck a metal garbage bin and several trees before coming to rest.
 
The driver, who was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected from the car. He was located a short distance away. Emergency personnel attempted saving him, but he died at the scene.
 
Authorities only identified the deceased as a 51-year-old Ceres man. They will release his name once his family members are properly notified.
 
It has not yet been determined if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. Further investigation is underway.
