Wrong-Way Driver Causes Fatal Fiery Crash on Highway 70 in Yuba County

 
YUBA COUNTY, CA (March 30, 2021) – Two people were killed Monday morning after a fiery accident on Highway 70 in Yuba County.
 
The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on March 29 near Old State Highway between Chandler Road and Lower Honcut Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was driving the wrong way when it collided head-on with an SUV. The impact pushed the SUV off the road and it burst into flames.
 
First responders pronounced both drivers dead at the scene. The identities of the victims were not immediately available.
 
Another car was involved, but that driver was not hurt.
 
CHP officials are still trying to determine the exact cause of the accident and factors involved.
