Pedestrian, Dog Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Rohnert Park Expressway in Rohnert Park

 
ROHNERT PARK, CA (January 16, 2024) — A pedestrian and his dog were hit and killed by a car on Rohnert Park Expressway near State Farm Drive.
 
According to Rohnert Park police officers, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 7:00 a.m. Sunday. During dense foggy conditions, a driver struck a male pedestrian and his dog who were crossing northbound near the railroad tracks.
 
Shortly after, police officers arrived, and paramedics attempted life-saving measures. However, the man died at the scene. His dog was also dead in the roadway.
 
As for the driver, he or she stayed and cooperated with police investigators, who ruled out impairment as a possible source. In addition, Rohnert Park police said the accident occurred in dim lighting and during heavy fog.
