David Garcia Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Downey Road near Whittier Boulevard

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 27, 2023) — David Garcia died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Downey Road near Whittier Boulevard.
 
According to reports, the fatal hit-and-run happened Tuesday as 36-year-old David Garcia Junior was taking out the trash. For an unknown reason, a driver of what authorities believe was a Honda Pilot struck the father of four and fled the scene.
 
Due to the forceful impact, his body flew about 12 feet from the point of the crash.
 
Shortly after, paramedics brought him to a nearby hospital, where he died about 12 hours later.
 
At this time, authorities need witnesses’ help in searching for the silver 2003 to 2004 Honda Pilot involved. If anyone has information leading to the driver’s whereabouts, please call the California Highway Patrol’s East LA division at 323-980-4600.
