Several Hurt, Box Truck Hit-and-Run Crash at New Avenue in Monterey Park

 
MONTEREY PARK, CA (October 26, 2023) — Several people were injured in a hit-and-run accident with a box truck at New Avenue and Garvey Avenue.
 
According to the Monterey Park police, the hit-and-run happened on October 18 around 4:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a white box truck ran a red traffic light and plowed into a white sedan. Subsequently, the box truck driver left southbound on Garfield Avenue toward the 60 Freeway.
 
Shortly after, Monterey Park police and paramedics responded to the crash to find the sedan occupants trapped in the wreckage. Due to the damage, firefighters had to use the “Jaws of Life,” to free the occupants and rush them to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
