TULARE COUNTY, CA (May 2, 2023) Crystal Olvera was arrested following a DUI crash and a police chase on Highway 46 at Highway 99.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened just after 5:36 p.m. Sunday. An officer tried to stop an Acura for weaving in and out of the lanes on Highway 99 near Avenue 72. The driver, 23-year-old Olvera, did not comply and a chase unfolded.

The pursuit continued southbound into Kern County at ranging speeds, albeit with light traffic. However, as the Acura exited Highway 46, it crashed into a Toyota vehicle that had the right of way.

The Acura ran the stop sign and drove into the intersection, causing the two cars to crash. Due to the impact, the Toyota veered down an embankment, and four Toyota occupants suffered minor injuries.

Olvera, of Pasadena, also suffered minor injuries and now faces DUI charges.
