Fiery 2-Car Accident on 80 Freeway in San Francisco

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 12, 2024) — A car fire resulted from a 2-car crash on the 80 Freeway near 9th Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 2-car accident happened Saturday night on the Bay Bridge. Under unclear circumstances, the two vehicles collided on westbound Interstate 80 near 9th Street. Subsequently, one car ruptured in flames and closed one lane of traffic.
 
Subsequently, firefighter-paramedics responded to extinguish the blaze.
 
At the time of the report, officers did not say if anyone was in either vehicle at the time of the fire. However, we will update this report once we receive more information.
