Brian Madison, David East, Linda Hancock Hospitalized in 3-Car Crash in Susanville

 
SUSANVILLE, CA (October 10, 2022) — Brian Madison was among three people injured in a 3-car accident on Highway 139 near Grasshopper Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle collision happened around 8:13 a.m. on Friday. For unknown reasons, 59-year-old Brian Madison, of Portland Ore., crossed into the northbound side from the southbound lane.
 
Subsequently, his car crashed into a northbound vehicle, driven by 68-year-old David East, of Loleta. Linda Hancock, who was driving behind East, failed to take evasive action in time and crashed into the back of his vehicle.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded to the scene and airlifted Madison to a medical center in Reno with chest pain and lacerations.
 
Meanwhile, medical staff brought East to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment of multiple cuts and broken bones.
 
Hancock was brought to Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville for a possible broken arm.
 
It’s unclear what led Madison to veer into the northbound side of the highway. However, if anyone has seen this crash that happened south of Termo, please call the CHP.
