Driver Uses Laser to Blind Woman, 2-Car Crash on Highway 138 in San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (October 10, 2022) — A man used a laser to blind a driver, causing a 2-car accident on Highway 138 near Phelan.

According to California Sheriff’s officials, the two-vehicle crash happened on Saturday around noon. Investigators learned that a 46-year-old man became angry at another driver that he thought was driving too slowly on Highway 138. After passing the woman, he slammed on his brakes, causing her to flash her high-beam lights at him.

Consequently, the male driver from Lancaster responded by flashing a green laser directly into her eyes, crippling her vision. As a result, she rear-ended his car.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene and cited the man for brandishing a weapon.
