Bicyclist Suffers Head Injuries after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Florida Drive in Balboa Park

 
BALBOA PARK, CA (March 19, 2022) – A 54-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on Florida Drive in Balboa Park, late Sunday evening.
 
The crash happened just after 10:15 p.m. on March 13 near Pershing Drive. According to the San Diego Police Department, the bicyclist was outside the designated bike lane on Florida Drive not far from Pershing Drive when a black sedan hit him.
 
After striking the bicyclist, the driver of the sedan did not stop to render aid.
 
Paramedics arrived and found the bicyclist with a skull fracture and a brain bleed. They rushed him to a hospital for treatment. The victim’s injuries was serious but non-life-threatening.
 
Officers are still investigating the incident and on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect.
