Bicyclist Sustains Injuries after Struck by Hit-and-Run Car on Bay Boulevard in Chula Vista

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (July 26, 2023) – A bicyclist was injured in a hit-and-run crash on Bay Boulevard in Chula Vista Monday morning on July 24.
 
The crash happened just before 11:00 a.m. near Palomar Street. According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the bicyclist in his 60s was riding north on Bay Boulevard when a vehicle headed in the same direction struck him from behind.
 
After the crash, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid.
 
The bicyclist fell off the bike. Responding paramedics took him to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
 
The bicycle sustained minor damage.
 
Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a white sedan or SUV. It was last seen going south on nearby 5 Freeway on-ramp.
 
An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
