Anthony Martinez Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Gothard Street [Huntington Beach, CA]

47-Year-Old Motorcycle Rider Dies after Crash with Car in Huntington Beach

 
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (January 9, 2024) – Anthony Arturo Martinez was killed in a motorcycle accident in Huntington Beach Monday evening on January 8.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:00 p.m. on Gothard Street, just north of Center Avenue. According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, Martinez was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he lost control and veered into oncoming traffic. He then collided with a Honda Civic.
 
As a result of the crash, Martinez suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 47-year-old Midway City resident.
 
A 66-year-old woman driving the Honda remained on scene and cooperated with authorities. She was not hurt.
 
It does not appear the Honda driver was impaired in any way. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
