Bicyclist Dies after Crash with Vehicle on Highway 150 in Carpinteria

 
CARPINTERIA, CA (January 9, 2024) – One person was killed in a bicycle accident on Highway 150 in Carpinteria Tuesday morning on January 9.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:44 a.m. at the intersection with Via Real. According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was riding their bicycle when they collided with a vehicle in unclear circumstances.
 
Deputies arrived and found the bicycle rider suffering from fatal injuries and pronounced them dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
At this time, the identity of the victim was not immediately available. Further investigation is underway.
