Coroner Identifies Andrea Hilscher and Jessica Baltierra as Drivers Killed in Highland Head-On Crash
HIGHLAND, CA (January 25, 2022) – Andrea Hilscher and Jessica Baltierra died in head-on accident on Highway 330 in Highland on Monday afternoon.
The accident happened around 1:15 p.m. on January 24, near Highland Avenue. Police said Baltierra, a 26-year-old San Bernardino resident, was driving a 2013 Blue Hyundai Accent south on the highway. Hilscher, a 38-year-old Arrowbear resident was driving a 2009 Green Toyota Prius northbound.
For unknown reasons, Baltierra veered left into northbound lanes and collided head-on into the Toyota. The impact sent the Toyota down the right shoulder embankment.
When officers arrived, they found both drivers suffering from major injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, Hilscher died at the scene.
Paramedics rushed Baltierra to a hospital, where she also succumbed to her injuries, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash. At this time, an investigation is underway.
