Amitis Prastuy and Piruz Prastuy Killed in Traffic Accident on Highway 41 [Kings County, CA]

Van Crashes into Canal on Highway 41 in Kings County Killing Father and 10-Year-Old Daughter

 
KINGS COUNTY, CA (November 27, 2022) – Amitis Prastuy and Piruz Prastuy were killed in a traffic accident in Kings County Wednesday afternoon on November 23.
 
The accident happened just before 4:00 p.m. on Highway 41 near Quail Avenue. According to the CHP, 45-year-old Sepiddeh Prastuy was driving a 2016 Mercedez Benz van and tried passing a big rig but cut in front of it too early due to oncoming traffic.
 
The van then crashed into the canal and was quickly submerged.
 
Good Samaritans helped rescue the driver but were unable to save the man and the girl. Amitis and Piruz both died at the scene.
 
Amitis was 10 years old and Piruz was 66, according to the Kings County Coroner’s Office.
 
The driver of the big rig remained on scene and was not injured.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
