Police Arrest Hit-and-Run Suspect after Seriously Injuring Pedestrian on Buck Owens Boulevard

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 27, 2022) – Police arrested Joseph Douglas after a hit-and-run crash in Bakersfield early Monday morning on November 21.
 
The crash happened around 2:42 a.m. on Buck Owens Boulevard. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the 36-year-old suspect struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road outside of a crosswalk.
 
After striking the victim, Douglas fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
First responders found the pedestrian lying in the roadway with severe injuries. They took the victim to a hospital in an unknown condition.
 
Police later found the suspect and arrested him.
