Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle near Sacramento International Airport

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (November 27, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident near the Sacramento International Airport Thursday evening on November 24.
 
According to the Sacramento Fire Department, a Nissan Altima struck the pedestrian near the airport on Bayou Way south of Metro Air Parkway around 7:46 p.m.
 
Responding firefighters pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
 
Authorities only described the victim as a man in his late 50s to early 60s. They said he appeared to be homeless.
 
The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
DUI is not suspected as a contributing factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
