Alex Bonilla Killed after Car Crashes off 91 Freeway at 15 Freeway [Corona, CA]

Car Accident on 91 Freeway in Corona Kills Driver and Injures 3 Passengers

 
CORONA, CA (November 4, 2021) – Alex Bonilla died while three others suffered injuries after a car crashed off the 91 Freeway in Corona Friday afternoon.
 
The accident happened just before 4:30 p.m. on October 29 to the northbound 15 Freeway bridge. According to the California Highway Patrol, Bonilla was driving a car on the transition road when he made an unsafe turning movement. The car then drove off of the freeway, overturned as it went down an embankment, and crashed into a concrete light pole at the intersection of Cresta Road and Parkridge Avenue.
 
As a result, Bonilla was ejected from the car and died at the scene. He was a 39-year-old Corona resident, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
 
Two passengers suffered life-threatening injuries, while another passenger had major injuries.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the accident to determine the ultimate cause and factors involved.
