Alberto Rojas, Santos Valentin Among Hurt in Deadly 2-Car Crash on Highway 33 at Panoche Road

 
MENDOTA, CA (July 8, 2022) — Alberto Rojas, Santos Valentin and several others were injured in a fatal two-car accident on Highway 33 at Panoche Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-car crash happened around 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday. For unclear reasons, a southbound 2001 Toyota Sienna struck a westbound 2003 Nissan Sentra when it drove into its path.
 
Soon after, arriving paramedics found a 32-year-old woman with major injuries in the Nissan’s front seat.
 
Due to her condition, they airlifted her to Community Regional Hospital in Fresno. However, despite life-saving care, the unidentified woman died from her injuries.
 
Subsequently, paramedics took 32-year-old Rojas — the Nissan Sentra driver — to Madera Community Regional Hospital with major injuries. As for the 55-year-old Toyota driver, Valentin of Mendota, he sustained minor injuries and refused medical care. Four others suffered minor to moderate injuries in the crash.
 
At this time, CHP officers do not believe DUI played a part in the cause. However, police believe the Nissan made a stop at the posted stop sign before proceeding onto the highway before the crash. If anyone has more information on this crash, please call the CHP.
