Bicyclist Adela Mullooly Dies after Colliding Head-On with Sports Car on Watts Valley Road

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (October 4, 2022)Adela Santana Mullooly died in a bicycle accident in Fresno County on Sunday morning, October 2.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:20 a.m. at 19580 Watts Valley Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Mullooly was riding her bicycle westbound on Watts Valley Road when she collided head-on into a 2017 Acura NSX, driven by a 45-year-old Clovis man, which was on the wrong side of the road.
 
The driver of the Acura was heading eastbound and attempted to curve. He veered into the westbound lane into the path of Mullooly.
 
51-year-old Fresno resident Mullooly suffered fatal injuries from the crash and died at the scene, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
 
The driver of the Acura stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
There is no suspicion of drugs or alcohol on the part of the driver, but they could be facing vehicular manslaughter charges.
 
Further investigation is underway.
