Elderly Woman Dies after Struck by Car while Walking Outside Crosswalk on Fair Oaks Boulevard in Carmichael

 
CARMICHAEL, CA (May 4, 2023) – A 90-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on Fair Oaks Boulevard in Carmichael Wednesday afternoon on May 3.
 
The fatal accident happened around 1:15 p.m. near Walnut Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the elderly woman was walking outside of a crosswalk when an oncoming Honda Accord struck her.
 
The driver of the Accord, a 20-year-old woman, was traveling on Fair Oaks approaching Walnut when the crash occurred.
 
First responders provided life-saving aid, but the victim died at the scene. She was not yet identified.
 
Authorities said speed was not a factor and the driver is not suspected of a DUI. No arrests were made at this time.
 
Further investigation is underway.
