Firefighters Rescue 6 Workers after Construction Site Collapses on South Glendale Avenue

 
GLENDALE, CA (May 4, 2023) – Six workers were trapped in an industrial accident on South Glendale Avenue late Wednesday morning.
 
The accident was reported around 11:00 a.m. on May 3, at a building construction site in the 1200 block of South Glendale Avenue. According to the Glendale Fire Department, firefighters at a nearby station responded to the scene after hearing a loud rumble in the area.
 
Upon arrival, they found that the metal roof trusses of a movie studio collapsed for an unknown reason.
 
Three workers were trapped in a lift about 40 feet in the air. Firefighters used an aerial ladder to try and reach them. Three others were on the ground and were stuck under rubble.
 
Paramedics transported five of the six workers to a hospital in stable condition.
 
The circumstances of the collapse are still under investigation.
