86-Year-Old Jerry Murphy Dies, Car Crashes Into Parked Pickup on Pontiac Street near Reed Road

 
OAKDALE, CA (September 15, 2022) — Jerry Murphy died after his car crashed into a parked pickup truck on Pontiac Street near Reed Road early Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal car accident happened around 8:30 a.m. For what officers believe might have been a medical emergency, 86-year-old Murphy struck a parked Dodge Ram pickup while driving his eastbound 2017 Lincoln MKZ.
 
Soon after, CHP officers and Oakdale Police responded to the scene and found the Lincoln vehicle resting against the rear of the parked pickup.
 
Due to his injuries, paramedics rushed Murphy to Oak Valley Hospital where he died from his injuries. At this time, authorities believe he might have sustained a cardiac arrest before the impact.
