Daniel Aldrete and Janet Coronado Injured, Joel Barraza Involved in Big Rig Accident on Highway 98 [Calexico, CA]

Daniel Aldrete, Janet Coronado Hospitalized in Big Rig Crash on Highway 98 at Highway 7

 
CALEXICO, CA (September 15, 2022) — Daniel Emmanuel Aldrete and Janet Coronado were injured in a big rig accident on Highway 98 at Highway 7.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle collision happened around 1:00 a.m. Wednesday. Under unclear circumstances, a tractor-trailer heading northbound on Highway 7 collided with a westbound car at Highway 98.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded to the scene and found the driver of the car — 36-year-old Aldrete — and his passenger — Coronado — both from Calexico, trapped in their vehicle. Imperial County Fire personnel were able to extricate both victims from the wreckage and bring them to El Centro Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the 36-year-old driver of the big rig, Joel De Jesus Murrieta Barraza of Hermosillo, Mexico, stayed at the scene.
