One Killed, One Injured in Red-Light Accident on Golden Springs Drive in Diamond Bar

 
DIAMOND BAR, CA (September 14, 2021) – Officers confirmed that an elderly man died in a red-light accident on Golden Springs Drive on September 9.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Brea Canyon Road shortly before 2:00 PM.
 
Based on reports, the victim was driving a Mercedes-Benz C230 at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. The vehicle was heading north on Brea Canyon when it went through a red light at the intersection of Golden Springs. After that, it struck two cars that were making left and right turns. It also collided with other vehicles before it crashed head-on with a Honda. The crash ejected the driver of the Mercedes from the vehicle.
 
As a result, officials said the victim died in the incident. Officials only identified him as an 83-year-old man from Diamond Bar.
 
In addition, paramedics transported the driver of the Honda to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center for minor injuries.
 
At this point, this fatal red-light accident on Golden Springs Drive is still under investigation.
