Elderly Pedestrian Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries after Hit by Sedan on Twain Avenue in Grantville

 
GRANTVILLE, CA (December 8, 2023) – An 80-year-old man was critically injured in a pedestrian accident on Twain Avenue in Grantville late Wednesday afternoon on December 6.
 
The accident happened around 5:40 p.m. near Fairmount Avenue. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 68-year-old man was driving a Toyota Camry westbound on Twain when he struck the elderly pedestrian who was crossing the street from the north sidewalk.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered a broken knee and leg, a fractured pelvis, broken ribs and an orbital bone fracture. Paramedics took him to a hospital in critical condition.
 
It is unclear if the driver of the Camry stayed after the crash. It is also unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor.
 
Further investigation is underway.
