Kenneth Macho Killed in 2-Car Collision on Highway 74 near Vista Point

 
PALM DESERT, CA (March 1, 2024) — Kenneth Macho died in a two-car accident on Highway 74 near Vista Point.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-car collision happened around 12:35 p.m. Thursday. For unknown reason, 75-year-old Macho crossed over the double yellow lines while heading down a mountain. Subsequently, his Subaru Crosstrek collided with an oncoming tow truck.
 
Shortly after, CHP officers and paramedics responded to milepost 88 and located a female elder in the Crosstrek with moderate injuries and the tow truck driver with minor injuries. Due to their conditions, emergency personnel ushered both patients to Desert Regional Medical Center.
 
Tragically, Macho died in the accident. Traffic investigators did not confirm the cause of the collision, which prompted officials to close the road for the investigation. Anyone who has seen this accident, please call the CHP.
