BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 1, 2024) — Jacob Gonzalez died in a mini-bike accident near River Boulevard and Skyline Boulevard.
 
According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, the fatal accident happened around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver of an orange Jeep struck a makeshift gas-powered mini-bike near the intersection.
 
A person on board the mini bike — 15-Year-Old Jacob Gonzalez — suffered severe injuries and, paramedics took him to Kern Medical Center, where he died Wednesday morning.
 
Reports said a second person was on the bike, but officials did not provide information on that occupant.
 
At the time of the report, police did not say what caused the collision. However, an investigation should confirm the details.
