Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Car on Mission Boulevard in Hayward

 
HAYWARD, CA (February 15, 2024) — A 73-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on Mission Boulevard near Blossom Way.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident took place around 7:35 p.m. Tuesday. For unknown reasons, a northbound gray Chevrolet Tahoe struck a 73-year-old Hayward man outside a marked crosswalk.
 
Shortly after, emergency personnel responded and found the victim with fatal injuries. Officials did not release his name.
 
Following the accident, the unidentified Chevrolet driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators who said impairment did not factor into the cause.
 
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
