8-Year-Old Boy Dies after Struck by Car on Highway 50 near 65th Street

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (February 14, 2024)Alex Cooper died after struck by a car in Sacramento Sunday afternoon on February 11.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 50, just east of 65th Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Toyota was parked near a construction zone after getting a flat tire. The mother and her children, Alex and a 9-year-old girl, got out of the car.
 
As the three were standing next to their vehicle, 30-year-old San Francisco man driving a Ford entered the center median and hit the two children.

As a result, Alex died at the scene. He was 8 years old. The 9-year-old girl suffered major injuries.

Meanwhile, the mother was unharmed.

The victims were Rancho Cordova residents.

The family has two GoFundMe pages available to help cover the cost of medical bills and the funeral.

At this time, an investigation is ongoing.
