7-Year-Old Child Hospitalized in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Derby Street

 
BERKELEY, CA (November 3, 2023) — A 7-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Derby Street near Mathews Street.
 
According to police officers, the hit-and-run accident happened around 6:25 p.m. Tuesday. For an unknown reason, a driver did not stop after hitting the 7-year-old child who was trick-or-treating that Halloween night.
 
As of Wednesday, the driver has not been accounted for. Due to the crash, the boy suffered a broken leg, cuts and abrasions but received care at a children’s hospital.
