1 Injured in 7-Car Crash on Highway 50 at Sunrise Boulevard Off-Ramp [Rancho Cordova, CA]

1 Hospitalized in Multi-Car Accident on Highway 50 in Rancho Cordova

 
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (November 3, 2023) — One person was injured in a 7-car crash on Highway 50 at Sunrise Boulevard.
 
According to Sacramento Metro Fire, the seven-car pileup happened around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a Toyota Tacoma driver was speeding on the highway and sideswiped a Subaru Forester in the lane over.
 
Subsequently, the Toyota Tacoma traveled up an embankment on the Sunrise Boulevard off-ramp and struck a Toyota 4Runner. As a result, both cars overturned on their sides.
 
At some point during the collision, either the 4Runner or the Tacoma struck a Toyota Corolla, a Subaru Outback, a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Tundra.
 
Moments later, paramedics responded and took the 4Runner driver to a hospital with minor injuries. The Tacoma driver suffered minor injuries but declined hospital care.
 
At this time, traffic investigators do not believe impairment played a factor. However, the case remains under investigation.
