Man Dead, 2-Car Crash on Highway 23 in Thousand Oaks

 
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (December 22, 2023) — A 65-year-old man died in a 2-car accident on Highway 23 near Olsen Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-car collision happened around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. For possible weather-related conditions, a Chevrolet Tahoe heading southbound on the highway struck a Toyota Tacoma pickup entering the southbound lanes.
 
Authorities believe the Toyota Tacoma driver lost control while entering the highway lanes.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded to the scene and tended to the female Chevrolet Tahoe driver, who complained of pain. Tragically, the other driver, a Simi Valley man, passed away at the scene. Officials have yet to release his name pending family notifications.
 
Due to the crash, police closed the two left lanes to investigate. If anyone has additional information on this crash, please call the CHP.
