Early Morning Accident on Whittier Boulevard Leaves 2 People Dead
WHITTIER, CA (May 16, 2022) – Two people died after a two-car accident at Whittier Boulevard and Esperanza Avenue, early Saturday morning.
The crash happened around 1:50 a.m. on May 14. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a black sedan and a red sedan collided into each other for unknown reasons. The impact caused serious front-end and side damage on the cars.
Fire crews used heavy tools to cut doors on one of the vehicles to access one person who appeared to be trapped inside the damaged car.
Life-saving measures were performed, but two people died at the scene. However, their identities were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police said speed appears to have been a factor.
