Man Hospitalized after Fresno Two-Vehicle Accident on Walnut Avenue

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (November 15, 2023) – Two people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Walnut Avenue on November 13.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened. For reasons still under investigation, a northbound 2001 Hyundai Elantra failed to stop at a posted stop sign and collided with a westbound Toyota near Mount Whitney Avenue.
 
The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to veer off northwest of the road, hitting an AT&T pole.
 
Emergency crews transported the 61-year-old Hyundai driver to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries. The Toyota driver reportedly sustained minor injuries but did not need hospitalization.
 
Investigators ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the collision. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
