2 Hurt, Multi-Car Crash at Del Mar Heights Road in Carmel Valley

 
CARMEL VALLEY, CA (March 16, 2023) — Two people reported injuries in a multi-car accident at Del Mar Heights Road and Carmel Canyon Road.
 
According to San Diego police officers, the multi-vehicle crash happened around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday. For unknown reasons, a 16-year-old man driving eastbound in a 2016 BMW lost control and slid into the westbound lanes. The BMW crashed into a Toyota Camry in the left-turn lane and a Toyota Corolla stopped in another lane. Due to the force, the BMW pushed the Camry into a Lexus SUV driven by an 18-year-old man.
 
As a result of the crash, a 50-year-old woman driving the Corolla suffered serious injuries, and the 54-year-old woman driving the Camry also reported injuries. Neither the BMW nor the Lexus driver was hurt.
 
Investigators are still unsure what led to the crash, but an ongoing investigation should confirm the factors.
