EL DORADO COUNTY, CA (January 15, 2024) — Two people were injured in a 2-car accident on Highway 50 near Kyburz.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened Saturday morning. For unknown known reasons, an SUV and a Penske truck collided on Highway 50, five miles east of Kyburz. Soon after, authorities and El Dorado County Fire officials responded around 9:11 a.m. to place one-way traffic control and to tend to two people with moderate injuries.
 
Meanwhile, chain controls were in effect for all cars except for 4-wheel drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels. If anyone has information on what caused this crash, please call the CHP.
