Collision on Magnolia Boulevard Causes Power Outage in Sherman Oaks

 
SHERMAN OAKS, CA (August 4, 2021) — Two people were hospitalized following a collision on Magnolia Boulevard in Sherman Oaks Sunday afternoon.
 
Officials said the crash happened near Coldwater Canyon at about 12:30 p.m. It involved two vehicles.
 
Firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcers rushed to the scene. When they arrived, they found that a hydrant was struck in the process of the collision.
 
Witnesses said water spewed up into the air and into the power lines. This resulted in flooding of the streets all the way to the 101 Freeway. Residents in the area lost power for about two hours.
 
Paramedics took two people to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity. Meanwhile, crews from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power worked on fixing the damaged hydrant. They shut the power off while working on the issue. And at around 3:30 p.m., power was restored in the area.
