2 Killed in Single-Car Crash on Highway 13 in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (August 26, 2022) — Two people died in a solo-car accident on Highway 13 near Redwood Road on Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-car accident occurred around 3:35 a.m. For unknown reasons, a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 13 veered out of control just north of the Redwood Road exit.
 
Subsequently, the car struck the right-hand shoulder guardrail before hitting some trees and catching fire.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel reached the area and found two people dead at the scene. The coroner has not yet released the victims’ names.
 
As of now, authorities have much to investigate. However, any witnesses who have information on this fatal crash, which closed the highway for nearly three hours, should contact the CHP.
