Fatal Multi-Car Accident on Highway 138 near Mormon Rocks [Phelan, CA]

1 Killed in Multi-Car Crash on Highway 138 in Phelan

 
PHELAN, CA (August 26, 2022) — One person died in a multi-car accident on Highway 138 near Mormon Rocks on Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-vehicle collision happened around 4:54 p.m. Under unknown circumstances, a Honda Accord, a white Ford Fiesta, a pickup truck and an Oldsmobile sedan crashed on the highway.
 
Soon after, CHP and San Bernardino County Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed one fatality. Paramedics also brought two people with unknown injuries to a hospital for treatment.
 
Following the crash, authorities investigated the area and surmised that speed might have contributed to the accident. If anyone has more information on this crash, please contact the CHP.
