SAN MARCOS, CA (December 22, 2021) – A 17-year-old boy is now in critical condition after a bicycle accident on San Elijo Road on December 15.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at Elfin Forest Road around 5:18 PM.
 
Based on an initial report, the victim was riding an e-bike in the bike lane of San Elijo at the time of the crash. At the same time, an Amazon delivery van was traveling westbound on Elfin. Due to unknown reasons, the bicyclist collided with the van. Subsequently, the impact ejected the boy from the e-bike.
 
As a result, he suffered critical injuries in the incident. Emergency crews with the San Marcos Fire Department transported him to Palomar Hospital for treatment.
