15-Year-Old Javier Gonzalez Killed in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash on Main Street near Poplar Street

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (March 3, 2022) — Javier Gonzalez died in a hit-and-run bicycle accident on Main Street near Poplar Street on Tuesday evening.
 
According to officials, the hit-and-run crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Upon responding Riverside Police and Fire personnel found a 15-year-old, later identified as Gonzalez, with major traumatic injuries.
 
Despite receiving life-saving efforts, the teen passed away at the scene.
 
During the investigation, authorities learned that a driver of a dark-colored pickup truck driving southbound struck Gonzalez while he was riding his bicycle northbound in the middle of the road. However, the driver failed to stop and continued without helping.
