Man Dies in Sacramento Pedestrian Crash on Highway 99

SACRAMENTO, CA (March 3, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 near Mack Road on Tuesday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 9:33 p.m. For unknown reasons, a man began crossing the southbound lanes of the highway when an oncoming white Chevrolet Silverado struck him.
 
Shortly after, the 18-year-old driver pulled over and contacted authorities and paramedics. Due to the nature of the crash, the male pedestrian died moments after.
 
At this time, detectives have not confirmed the circumstances and primary cause of this accident on Highway 99. However, anyone with information should contact the CHP.
