Suspected DUI Driver Crashes into Police Cruiser on Foothill Boulevard During Chase

 
SUNLAND, CA (February 29, 2024) – An officer was injured when a police chase involving a suspected DUI driver ended in a crash at Foothill Boulevard and Fenwick Street late Tuesday evening.
 
The chase began just before 11:30 p.m. on February 27 that lasted for about five minutes. The Los Angeles Police Department officers pursued the suspect, when he crashed into one of the police cruisers chasing him.
 
Video from the scene shows the suspect’s vehicle flipped over onto its roof.
 
Paramedics took both the officer involved and the male suspect to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Police later arrested the suspect on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
Further investigation is underway.
